This was the fastest non-fiction book I've ever devoured.
His writing style is very readable. One of the few book lately I've read and not found myself 'making corrections'.
He outlines the family members in the beginning (book mark this page!) and lists the family members he will be discussing in that chapter; both of these quite the help with a cast this big.
I too grew up in a family with a schizophrenic sibling so was informative both about the disease and the effect on family members.
In the final chapters Robert Kolker discusses current status of research and pharmeceuticals.
