"Held for Ransom" is based on Lois Duncan's book, "Ransom". Unfortunately, the movie is nothing like the book and is in fact, poorly directed and terribly miscasted. Point blank, unless you're a die-hard Lois Duncan fan or a huge Zachery Ty Bryan fan, don't even bother watching this sad excuse for a movie adaptation.
