Ten years later they were finally issued as this CD. Fans of the Black Eagle Jazz Band, a group that has lasted for more than 30 years, will certainly enjoy this music. Leader Tony Pringle's primitive cornet sets the tone for the band although the other musicians are smoother, particularly clarinetist Billy Novick, trombonist Stan Vincent, and pianist Bob Pilsbury. The band is particularly strong during ensembles and, with the possible exception of Duke Ellington's "Creole Love Call," none of the songs on this spirited set are exactly overplayed.
