The Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra of Viennese composer Georg Christoph Wagenseil comes from the generation before Haydn and Mozart, while the Concertino for Trombone and Orchestra, Op. 4, of Ferdinand David, one of the nineteenth century's great violinists, was written in 1830. The total package is satisfying.
