This volume critically analyzes the debate surrounding the social and conceptual formations of 'space 'and 'place' to understand how such boundaries intersect with gender. The essays argue that spaces and places are social and ideological constructs. What is significant is the implication of power in the production of spaces and places as they are ideologically organized to maintain established hierarchies.
