Das Meisterlied ist uns nur handschriftlich erhalten, da es den Mitgliedern der Ge nossenschaft namentlich in der Fr???hzeit des Meistergesangs streng verboten war, ihre in der Singschule_ vorgetragenen parc durch Drucklegung zu profanieren. Eben diese Vorschrift ist ia auch noch fur Hans Sachs mehrfach der Grund gewesen, seine Meisterlieder zu Spruchgedichten umzuarbeiten, um sie dann in dieser Form in Druck aus gehen zu lassen.
