Illustrated with colorful pictorial end-papers; frontispiece and 5 black and white plates. No publication date given, circa 1900-1910. Ballantyne born in Scotland in 1825, was a prolific writer of juvenile fiction, publishing over 100 title during his lifetime. No previous ownership marks. A square, tight, unmarked copy with only minor age wear to cloth and clean interior. Near very good.
