A survivor of the 1960s, Reuben Wilson's organ style is an outgrowth of that of Jimmy Smith. He performs a variety of funky and bluesy originals, R&B tunes, and basic material. Wilson's interplay with guitarist Melvin Sparks is consistently impressive, altoist Cochemea Gastelum adds some variety to the music, and drummer Mike Clark is an asset.
