Some are, or derive from, the style of instructional works with clearly defined first and second parts, while in Debussy's inexplicably neglected Six épigraphes antiques, the full potential of the piano is exploited. Throughout, the pianists capture the intimate dimensions and touches that give these pieces their charm, and they adjust their mode of expression to the several types of work here.
