I am of Finnish extraction and wanted to learn Finnish. My mother speaks it but could not explain the "why" so I got this book. It is one fo the best books there is to learn Finnish from. I learned Finnish from this book and have been to Finland 4-5 times. I never speak English in FInland. I can read, write and speak Finnish. If you want a good book about the FInnish language, this one is it.
