Rather than return to the world they know, Carter and Zoe opt to remain in Eureka, with Carter serving as sheriff and Zoe attending the town's high school. This was a lovely surprise. It is enjoyable in every episode. I had only seen the pilot on air, til it was switched to SciFi channel and I never forgot about it. It keeps me guessing, for sure. It even has that 'quirky' Matt Frewer in the cast. --Not every character is that quirky, but the entire town is! Everyone is exceptional and each one has a chance to shine, and also to get taken down a peg or two; -and that includes the rock-steady non-genius sheriff , whose daughter is good at keeping him 'honest' in her own somewhat 'gothic' off-beat way.
