Sabato is a writer who I admire a lot. He is clear, and the storys he writes are excellent.
This book in particular is the best introduction to this writer. The history is about a guy dealing with the existence and the love for a woman which he pictures in his mind, but in the reality is someone totally different (or maybe he thinks that!).
Is excellent how the story is guided to a way when you feel sad about the main character, and then it makes a 180° degree change and you feel horrorized or maybe some hate about him, and you don't even expect it.
I'll recall the best phrase (and maybe the most famous) of this book: "At the end, there was only a larg and dark tunel, the mine".
