The more you'll be studying the Ancient Egyptian language, the more you will hear about this book.
The book has been the cornerstone of Egyptian Grammar since its publication.
This is the book which will make amateurs become experts.
However, it is not very useful for those who just want to read the short hieroglyphic texts found in pyramids and small objects in museums. For those kind of texts you need Budge's "An Egyptian Hieroglyphic Dictionary" (in two volumes) and Zauzich's "Hieroglyphs WIthout Mystery".
This book would be too detailed and complicated for those who want to read simple texts like those.
