Released a matter of weeks after Dolly Parton's 2022 induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Diamonds & Rhinestones: The Greatest Hits Collection certainly emphasizes the pop side of Parton. Opening with "9 to 5," the number one hit that confirmed her superstardom in 1980, the single-disc compilation then speeds through her other crossover perennials -- "Jolene," "Here You Come Again," "Islands in the Stream," "I Will Always Love You," "Coat of Many Colors" -- before touching upon some of her first solo country hits, then returning to her glitzier pop numbers and latter-day material before returning to the early '70s.
