The author, in what is an obvious labor of love has assembled hundreds of color photos of the obsolete mil. aircraft that were sent to Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona for storage and/or destruction. Almost every single photo is captioned with the aircraft's number, when it arrived and what became of it (thru the date of publication in approx. 1986) There are the well known photos of hundreds of B-36 bombers or the 1000 B-47s. But there are the other 100+ pictures of virtually every frontline U.S. military aircraft produced from 1946 onward. This includes transports, helicopters, tankers, scout planes and more. The book is a one-owner book, the former owner being a retired USAF pilot.
