I just finished reading "Dead Center" by Ed Kugler. A Marine sniper who served in Vietnam. It's an amazing book and I recommend it. A thrilling tale of a boy of peace who had to become a man of war, then returned to be a man of peace again. Gritty, bloody and real.

Gave us a very good look at the viet nam war and the mess our govt. had us involved in. It is just like what we have today, too many politicians involved and not just letting us win the darn thing. If you are going to send our young men off to war, then give them the opportunity to win it, not just send them off to die for it. Ed's language might be a little rough for some, but that's just the way it was. There was not a lot to be cheery and upbeat about over there.
And now, years later, those of us who did our duty and answered our country's call are lucky enough to be added to terrorist watch lists for doing so, or left to be ingnored and die due to lack of care for our veterans.
