Wonderful movie
There are so many delicious layers to this movie. A young boy - an irresisitible little imp- is obsessed with movies and the movie projector at his local cinema. Despite all odds - no money, punishment by his mother, the grouchy projectionist, Toto manages to insinuate himself into this life, and nobody can stop him. So, it is about a single- minded lifelong passion. It is also about friendships that develop in the most unlikely of places,
As Toto becomes an adolescent, it is about first love, and the inability to let go of thwarted love throughout most of his adult life. It is about leaving your past behind, but coming home to rediscover parts of yourself. It is about family, and in the end about the ultimate gift of love. There is such depth to this movie - that's what makes it fabulous. It was on my must-see list for years, and I am so glad I got to that part of my list. See it! Bring tissues!
