The book is light-hearted and I think anyone with a pet can relate to it. Even if the reader doesn't have a pet it makes for an interesting read. The story has only a few characters, the mom and dad, and later a baby brother and sister. As Chilloo recounts his memories of his life, even small incidents become big stories.
