Seller's Description:
Fine in Near Fine jacket. First edition. Fine in near fine dustwrapper with spine lightly faded and offsetting from a newspaper clipping laid in at the front pastedown. Inscribed to poet Daniel Hoffman shortly before publication: "To Daniel, teacher, friend [underlined], guide illuminator-with esteem and keen friendship-from Paul Christensen Nov. 1978-Texas." Hoffman served as the Consultant in Poetry of the Library of Congress (the equivalent of the United States Poet Laureate) in 1973-1974 and was Christensen's mentor: laid in is a photocopy of Christensen's dissertation perspectus approved by Hoffman in 1973. A wonderful association.
