I loved this book. According to the introduction this is the first book written on the subject in English. This is a well written history lesson exploring the history of cannibalsim through out the world. As the tittle suggests, religous ceremonies involving human sacrifice are also discussed.
Despite the content Garry Hogg handles the book in a tasteful fashion. He does not use shock value to capture the reader's attention. He gives a straight forward discussion on a dark and mysterious subject.
This book is an interesting read. I absolutely enjoyed reading this book as did the people I loaned it to. The title alone draws people in, but this is an excellent and well written book. A must have for any book shelf.
