Best reference volume I've found for Birds of North America. Not a field guide - but - a solid desk top volume. I always have this book sitting next to me when I sit in my favorite "viewing" chair. Color photographs plus invaluable information on breeding and behavior. A must have for any serious birder.

GREAT FIELD GUIDE
The staff at a nearby National Park Service unit uses this guide. We find it to be very good (much better than the Audubon books). If you need to get really detailed, Peterson is a bit better.
