These have now begun to appear with a variety of conductors at the helm. This release includes the Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92, and the ballet The Creatures of Prometheus, Op. 43, and the conductor is the orchestra's concertmaster, Gottfried von der Goltz. Both readings are enjoyable and valuable. Compared with the blistering first movement of the Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125, led by Pablo Heras-Casado, and the rethinking from the ground up of the Missa Solemnis, Op. 123, by René Jacobs, von der Goltz does not color far outside of the lines, with moderate tempos.
