However, fate plays against poor Huck, as he is captured by his evil father, who returns to town and takes him to live in a shack downstream.There, Huck remains captive, but manages to escape on a raft and meets his friend Jim, a runaway slave who flees seeking his freedom. The two undertake a dangerous escape along the Mississippi River, and have many adventures together, until they reach the surprising and unexpected end of the play, in which they are helped by the risky and brave Tom Sawyer.
