The last thirty years have seen a new concentration on the historical person of Jesus that has overturned much of the speculative biblical criticism of the past that seemed to undermine faith itself. Ivan Clutterbuck has been a priest of the Church of England for over sixty years. He has served both as an army and naval chaplain and has taught in several public schools.
