Seller's Description:
Acceptable. A readable copy. All pages are intact, and the cover is intact (However the dust cover may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes--in pen or highlighter--but the notes cannot obscure the text. Book may be a price cutter or have a remainder mark.
This book is split into three sections: Travel; Polemics and Sermons, and Personal History. The Travel section, covering, as you would imagine, some of his travels, is by far the best and most entertaining. He does have a way of bringing his various adventures to life and his various rants can, in moderation, be quite entertaining.
The other two sections aren't so good, however, with the the Polemics section, at times a bit self-indulgent.
Still a worthwhile read, though.
The reference to Scotland in the synopsis provided on this site is a bit misleading, however, as there are only about six lines referring to his time in Edinburgh.
