I enjoyed getting to know this man and his family through reading the book. His personality amuses me. I loved the story of their courtship. Fun details like his love of games, and his late-night habits contribute to make the story interesting. Many sermons and letters are included that are fun to read. Peter Marshall is mostly remembered as being the chaplain of the Senate; this book shows you the man at home.

Well written, honest.
Makes the point that one doesn't have to live a long life to have it be meaningful.
